Robert Kubica is about to enter his first complete season as a regular Formula One Grand Prix driver. Following a promising winter testing programme, the BMW Sauber F1 Team driver travels to Australia highly motivated. Robert speaks about the atmosphere within the team.

In 2006, Robert competed in the first Grand Prix race of his career when he entered the Formula One WOrld Championship at Budapest. Five further appearances followed. The Polish driver achieved his best result in the Italian GP, where he stood on the podium alongside Michael Schumacher and Kimi Raikkonen having finished in third place.

This year, Robert will sit in the cockpit of the BMW Sauber F1.07 as a regular driver from the beginning of the season. For him, this means additional motivation: "It is certainly a different situation for me than last year," Kubica says. "It's more exciting."

Last Thursday, the BMW Sauber F1 Team ended its winter preparations prior to the start of the season with two major tests in Bahrain. The achieved results allow Robert to look towards the first race of the season full of optimism. He is satisfied with the work completed over the winter: "The whole season preparation is progressing well," says the 22-year-old. "In the meantime, I know everybody in the team much better, which is very important. The team atmosphere is very pleasant and I am looking forward to my first season as the regular GP driver."
