The Bridgestones suit the F1.07 well - Heidfeld
The 2007 Formula One season will be contested on control tyres. Following the tests held in Bahrain, Nick Heidfeld is of the opinion that the BMW Sauber F1.07 and the new Bridgestone tyres make a successful combination.
The BMW Sauber F1 Team's successful tests in Bahrain have provided extremely significant for Nick. His BMW Sauber F1.07 proved not only to be quick and reliable, it also turned out to be very well adapted to the new Bridgestone control tyres.
"The tyres clearly provide less grip, therefore everyone will be slower and sliding a lot more with them. When it comes to the car, however, they seem to suit the F1.07 rather well. The car was clearly developed in the right direction," says Heidfeld, praising the work of the BMW Sauber F1 Team engineers and mechanics. Nonetheless, he is aware of the fact that work with the tyres is not yet complete. "There still is quite a lot we have to learn regarding the tyres."
On the other hand, Nick as a driver also can contribute to make optimum use of the tyres. "I've got a gentle and precise style of driving," he explains. "Therefore, I hope to experience fewer problems with the new tyres than other drivers."
