Heidfeld relies on growing fan basis

Four German Grand Prix drivers will be battling for World Championship points during the 2007 Formula One season, one of them for the BMW Sauber F1 Team. Nick Heidfeld announces ambitious plans and hopes for the support of the German fans.

Nick is not aiming to become the best German Formula One driver following Michael Schumacher's retirement. "My goal is to leave everyone behind me, not only the German drivers. I'm not intersted in the nationality," Heidfeld commented. For this purpose, Nick is relying on the support of his fans. "I hope to gain some new fans. It's always great to be supported and to be able to show your fans a good race."

In the first season of the BMW Sauber F1 Team, Nick and his team mate Robert Kubica were already able to thrill their supporters with good race results. Twice they even managed to finish on the podium. In the next few years, the team is aiming to further improve their performance - always with the World Championship at the back of their heads. Nick confirms: "We are on the good path. Currently, we are where we want to be. Last year's improvement from eighth to fifth place was more than we had hoped we would be able to achieve."
