Most important thing to collect some points - Kubica

Mainly due to last week's successful test at the 'Sepang International Circuit', Robert Kubica feels well prepared for the second Grand Prix of the season. The BMW Sauber F1 Team driver has set himself just one goal: to finish in the points.

Robert had the opportunity to become familiar with the race track that hosts the Malaysian Grand Prix, as well as the tropical climate, last year, when he was test and reserve driver for the BMW Sauber F1 Team. However, the Polish driver is now looking forward to his first race appearance at the 'Sepang International Circuit'.

"This will be my second visit to the Malaysian GP, but the first time I will be lining up for the race," says Kubica. "I'm really looking forward to it. It was good to have the chance to test at Sepang, so we could find out how the car behaves in the heat, how the temperatures affected the tyres, and so on. The test was also very useful for me personally to acclimatise to the conditions."

"The circuit is very interesting, but has a very different character to Melbourne, " Robert says of the 5.543 kilometre long circuit. Unlike the track in Australia, the Sepang International Circuit is used exclusively for races and provides high grip and low braking levels.

Asked about his goals prior to his first race appearance at Sepang, Robert answered: "I hope that we will be as strong in Malaysia as we were in Australia. After retiring from the race in Melbourne, the most important thing for me is to finish this time around and to collect some points."
