Peter Sauber happy for Kubica

With four fourth places so far, the BMW Sauber F1 Team has achieved an excellent start to the 2007 Formula One season. Peter Sauber looks back with satisfaction on the development of the season so far and is particularly happy for Robert Kubica.

"It would be great if it stayed this way," Sauber says. "At the beginning of the season, we didn't expect to be able to finish four races in fourth place. McLaren and Ferrari, the two teams ahead of us, have four drivers between them, so you always have to leave one of them behind."

After Nick Heidfeld had subscribed to fourth place in the season so far, it was his team-mate Robert who was able to finish the Spanish Grand Prix in fourth place, behind Felipe Massa (Ferrari), Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso (both McLaren). "I'm pleased that Robert managed to make it to the finish line this time after he had experienced some bad luck in the first two races through no fault of his own," Sauber commented on the second best result in the career of the young Polish driver.

Nick's race at the "Circuit de Catalunya" near Barcelona, on the other hand, did not unfold as he had hoped for. A mistake during a pit on lap 24 ended all hopes of the 30-year-old of achieving a further good result. Sauber comments: "Obviously it is a shame that Nick was unlucky there. If you take your time to analyse the pit stop, however, one has to admit that these things can happen. Unfortunately, we can't change it anymore."
