No GP at Indianapolis in 2008
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway confirmed today that it will not host the 2008 United States Grand Prix. A statement said that chairman Tony George and Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone agreed not to schedule a race for next year.
Tony George said: "After several discussions, Bernie Ecclestone and I were unable to agree how to keep Formula One in Indianapolis for the near term. However, we have agreed to leave the door open for a potential future date."
