Briatore tipped as successor Mosley

Insiders believe that Flavio Briatore, the Team Principal of the Renault F1 Team, has the biggest chance of being the successor to Max Mosley as President of the FIA. Mosley, who is believed to retire in October 2009, would prefer Tony Purnell to succeed him, but it appears that Briatore has the support of Bernie Ecclestone. The flamboyant Italian's contract with Renault expires at the end of 2008.
