Birth of son extra boost for Heidfeld

Last weekend, Nick Heidfeld experienced a pleasant déjà-vu: Early on Saturday morning, his girlfriend Patricia gave birth to his son Joda. Nick's daughter Juni was also born while her father was in action during an F1 race weekend.

Just as during the French Grand Prix in 2005, Nick received the news about the birth of his son at the race track. "At 5:28 am Patricia already sent me the first photo of our son," said Nick full of joy on Saturday. "He weighs 3.4 kilograms and is 49 cm tall. In other words, we are proud parents of a healthy child."

Juni was born on 3rd July 2005 - the day of the Magny-Cours race. Nick left the circuit immediately after the Grand Prix in order to be with his family as soon as possible. This time, he flew to his home in Stäfa in Switzerland on Saturday for a short visit and returned to the Nürburgring for the race on Sunday.

Nick explains the origin of the name "Joda": "Patricia came up with the name and didn`t even know that it had been used in a movie. Obviously, I knew the name but I'm not a huge fan of the films and simply thought the name sounded good." Joda, or Yoda, is one of the characters in George Lucas' "Star Wars".
