Briatore pleased with team performance at Istanbul

The ING Renault F1 Team boss, Flavio Briatore, was pleased with the performance of the team and the drivers during the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park. Especially Heikki Kovalainen put down a great performance as he finished the race in 6th position.

Flavio Briatore said after the race: "It was a very good performance from Heikki, and a shame for Fisico because the car was good today. This is the first race in a long time where we have been competitive with BMW, and it felt like we were back racing properly again.

There were no mistakes during the race, and the team did a very strong job all weekend. We can go to Monza and Spa feeling more optimistic after this performance."

The ING Renault F1 Team still needs to announce their driver line-up for the 2008 season.
