Extra joy for everybody in the team - Whitmarsh
McLaren's Martin Whitmarsh is extremely happy with the outcome of the Italian Grand Prix weekend. Fernando Alonso grabbed an amazing victory at Monza and finished ahead of team mate Lewis Hamilton. The team went through a difficult weekend as the spy case lingers on.
Martin Whitmarsh said: "Coming to Italy and a one-two is fantastic. After a busy weekend, there's extra joy for everyone in the team."
"Both drivers have done a great job and Fernando's been fantastic all weekend looking like he was going to win all the time. Lewis has been determined to score the points too and hustled his way past Kimi. I don't think any of us expected that, least of all Kimi."
With his victory, Fernando Alonso is now only three points behind his team mate, Lewis Hamilton, in the Championship standings. With 4 races left to go and the WMSC hearing still to come, everything is still possible.
