Hamilton awarded with prestigious Golden Steering Wheel
The Golden Steering Wheel award for outstanding achievement 2007, presented by the German newspaper “Bild am Sonntag” and one of the most coveted automotive honours in Europe, has been won by Lewis Hamilton. The award was presented last night in Berlin to Lewis by former World Champion Mika Hakkinen.
Lewis Hamilton “I am very privileged to be here tonight, representing Mercedes-Benz. It is a great honour to receive this award. I have a fantastic team behind me and although we didn’t win the championship this year, the season exceeded all my expectations.”
Other awards on the night included Best Cabriolet for the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster, which was received by Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management Daimler AG /Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars.
