The move to standard electronics was a mistake - Theissen

BMW Motorsport boss Mario Theissen has criticised the ECU, the mandatory system that will be supplied to all the teams in 2008 and beyond by a McLaren subsidiary. Theissen isn't the only one to criticise the ECU as also Renault and Ferrari have doubts about the fact that the system is being delivered by McLaren who was involved in the espionage case in 2007.

Mario Theissen declared to the German newspaper 'Bild': “The move to standard electronics was a mistake. We have incurred substantial additional costs. And the fact that the ECU is dispensed by a competitor, which receives and looks at our procedures, does not make things any better.”
