Raikkonen leads the Renaults

Kimi Raikkonen is on pole for tomorrow's inaugural GP of Turkey. The Finn simply set a faultless lap with his McLaren which was enough to hold off Fisichella and Alonso. The Spaniard got beaten by Fisico this time as he braked a little too late at the end of the main straight. Montoya will complete the top four after coming out third this afternoon.

Jarno Trulli is fifth, followed by the Williams' of Heidfeld and Webber. The latter however looked set to be quicker than his teammate but lost several tenths as he had to pass Sato during his flying lap. Takuma Sato was still in his in-lap but apparently did not realise Webber was coming quickly. He simply stayed on the ideal line in the braking area before the straight. The Japanese earlier messed up his qualifying lap as he went off in turn 8.

Next years Ferrari driver Felipe Massa is in 8th place, followed by the second Toyota of Ralf Schumacher. The German nearly missed turn 10 and lost approximately half a second there.

The first Bridgestone runner is Barrichello in 11th place. It seemed he could not do anything better as he ran a clean lap but steadily lost time over the front runners.

Behind him is Coulthard of which we can tell the same story as of Barrichello. Just like Rubens he also outqualified his teammate.

After that there are the two B.A.Rs of Button and the aforementioned Sato. Both men lost their car in turn 8 and ran over the synthetic grass on the outside of the corner. They could both continue their run unharmed but are more than 3 seconds behind Raikkonen.

On 15th place we find Monteiro, followed by Albers and Doornbos. Jacques Villeneuve is 18th as he also missed turn 8 and spun off. The Canadian was unable to keep his Sauber running which resulted in a two minute red flag. Behind him are only Karthikeyan who did not drive a qualifying lap because of an engine switch on friday.

Completely at the back is Michael Schumacher. Already with a not lightningly fast Ferrari he missed turn 10 (same corner that his brother Ralf missed) and came in without a completed qualifying lap.
