A Chinese F1 team stands up
An F1 team has just been set up in China. The aim of Shangsai FRD Grandtour Tyre team is to get young Chinese drivers interested in F1."The team's start-up marks the first step in our efforts to more closely link Chinese racing sports to the international racing community behind F1," said Yu Zhifei, deputy general manager of Shanghai International Circuit Co (SIC).The idea of having a Chinese F1 team is great for the sport; it will create much interest about F1 in China. If the team fails, the sport will be most likely forgotten. (Felipe Fernandez)
