Villeneuve satisfied with his Italian GP

Jacques Villeneuve had an incredible start to the Italian GP to get ahead of McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen. Villeneuve was fast enough so that Kimi Raikkonen couldn't find a way past the Sauber of the Canadian. This was causing the McLaren pit and the number 2 in the Drivers Championship a lot of frustration.

Villeneuve was trying to go as fast as he could before his early pit stop. Despite of his quick start, Jacques wasn't able to collect points at Monza, he finished 11th.

Jacques Villeneuve "The start went very well, and I was able to keep Kimi behind me quite easily in the early stages. When we were fighting again later on I was blue flagged even though we were battling for position, so I had to let him by. I guess the marshals were getting a bit over-excited."
Villeneuve added: "We had an aggressive strategy but we really needed a few positions higher in qualifying to make that work. The car was oversteering, but I don’t mind that."
