Architect competition to modernise Magny-Cours
There will be an European competition for architects to modernise the Formula One circuit of Magny-Cours. This was decided by the departmental council of the French Nièvre. The President of the council said: "I want to do everything possible to organise the 2009 French Grand Prix at the Circuit of Magny-Cours."
Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone already dropped that F1 will not return to Magny-Cours beyond 2008. Especially the traffic problems around the circuit and the lack of hotel accommodation are a thorn in the eye of Ecclestone, who is already making plans to move the French Grand Prix to Paris.
