Glock to get rare GT-One chance
Panasonic Toyota Racing driver Timo Glock will take a step back into Toyota's motorsport history later this summer when he gets behind the wheel of the legendary GT-One sportscar. The Toyota GT-One raced in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1998 and 1999, taking pole position and second place in its final outing in the French race.
It will hit the track again for a rare outing, with Timo taking the wheel for two demonstration laps of the Nürburgring on August 9, as part of the Old Timer Grand Prix event.
A Toyota GT-One has not raced since 1999 but an example is kept in running condition at Panasonic Toyota Racing's technical centre in Cologne, Germany and it makes occasional appearances at events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
