Sakon Yamamoto was born on July 9, 1982 in Toyohashi, Japan. He made his F1 debut for the Super Aguri F1 Team during the 2006 German Grand Prix after having driven a few tests with the team on the friday of the raceweekends.
German Rolf Stommelen participated in 63 Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, achieving one podium and 14 championship points. He also participated in several non-Championship Formula One races.
Rolf was killed in a vicious crash during an IMSA Camel GT event at Riverside International Raceway on April 24, 1983 after the rear wing of his Porsche 935 broke.
Jarno Trulli was born in Pescara, Abruzzo, Italy. He first made his name as a World Champion in karting, before finding success in German Formula Three in 1996.
Thanks to the patronage of Flavio Briatore, he made his Grand Prix debut for Minardi in Australia in 1997. He showed well in his early outings for the team before being invited to join Prost mid-season to stand in for the injured Olivier Panis. He finished fourth at the Nurburgring and against the odds led in Austria in sensational style, before retiring. Jarno had to stand down when Panis returned, but landed a full time seat for the next two seasons alongside Olivier.
The Italian continued in F1 at Jordan and Renault, before switching to Toyota as a final step in his F1 career.
Francisco Sacco Landi, better known as Chico Landi was a racing driver from São Paulo, Brazil. He participated in 6 Formula One Grands Prix, debuting on September 16, 1951. He scored a total of 1.5 championship points, awarded for his 4th place finish in the 1956 Argentine Grand Prix, a drive he shared with Gerino Gerini. Landi was the first Brazilian driver to drive a Ferrari in a Formula One race (Ferrari 375), albeit not for the works team. He drove one to victory at the Bari Grand Prix in 1948. He died in 1989 at the age of 88.
Christopher Amon was born in Bulls, New Zealand. He was a Formula One race driver in the 1960s and 1970s and drove for 12 different teams. In 108 races he managed to finish 11 times on the podium. Amon also won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1966 with Bruce McLaren.
Tiago Vagaroso da Costa Monteiro was born on July 24, 1976 in Porto, Portugal. In 2003, Tiago had his first taste of a F1 car when he was testing with the Renault team at Barcelona. For the 2004 season, Monteiro was signed up as official test driver for the Minardi team.
In 2005, Tiago raced for the Jordan Team alongside Narain Karthikeyan. He there managed to finish 16 consecutive races, a new record for a rookie driver. He became 3rd at the 2005 US GP after all Michelin teams abandoned the race before the official start because of safety reasons.
For the 2006 season, Monteiro signed a contract with Midland F1.
Spaniard Alonso managed to get F1 popular again in Spain. He was the youngest driver to get on pole and the youngest to win a Grand Prix. All that he managed in a Renault.
Tonio Liuzzi was born on 6 August, 1981 in Locorotondo, Italy. In September 2004, Tonio had a test drive with Sauber. In November 2004, again he was given a test drive, this time with the new Red Bull team. The Italian was granted a raceseat for 2005 but had to share it with Christian Klien who was favoured and drove most of the races. Liuzzi signed a contract to move to Scuderia Toro Rosso, the second F1 team of Red Bull, in 2006.
Lucas Tucci Di Grassi, born in São Paulo, Brazil is a racing driver. He finished runner up in the 2007 GP2 season and has been a Renault Driver Development member until 2008.

Nelson Piquet Souto Maior, more commonly known as Nelson Piquet, is a Brazilian racing driver who was Formula One world champion in 1981, 1983, and 1987. He is known for his rivalry with Nigel Mansell and his outspoken opinion.
Nelson has a son, Nelson Piquet Jr. who is also a Formula One racing driver.
Death of Didier Pironi who had won 3 GPs. The racer won one Grand Prix in 1980 with a Ligier-Ford JS11/15 and 2 in 1982 in a Ferrari 126C2. Five years after the end of his F1 career he was killed when his powerboat flipped over during a race in the Solent, off the Isle of Wight.

Bruce Leslie McLaren, born in Auckland, New Zealand, was a race-car designer, driver, engineer and inventor. He is the founder of the McLaren Formula One team. With Bruce behind the wheel, the cars were dominant in the CanAm series while also winning three times the Indianapolis 500. Bruce also won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1966 where he partnered Chris Amon.
Bruce died June 2, 1970 when he tested his CanAm M8D. When the bodywork came loose, the car spun off and hit a bunker that was used as a signalling post. Bruce McLaren was 33 years old.
