Honda RA106
Active: 2006
Team: Honda Racing F1
Designer: Geoff WillisDrivers: Rubens Barrichello (11), Jenson Button (12)
The first all Honda since 1964 marks the return of the largest engine maker in the world. This car louds the departure over the single keel concept for Honda that was used in previous years by the team, from 1999 to 2005 named B.A.R Honda F1. As of geometrical reasons, this car is the only one of the 2006 F1 cars that has a seperate track rod in the front suspension that is not hidden in the streamline of a wishbone. Just as all the other cars of 2006, development was mainly focused on the rear end of the car because of the new V8 engine regulations. Tighter packaging in the rear was accompanied with exhausts that are close to the center of the car.
