He is lucky Lewis is a clean and safe driver.
Ask Albon about that.. That assertion just doesn't seem correct.

Neither Hamilton nor Verstappen race as if they are owner-drivers in the style of Brabham or McLaren.
Hamilton is a lot cleaner than Verstappen, I'd say. I don't see this happen a lot between Hamilton and other drivers. I've seen it happen with Verstappen a lot more.

Now the Hamilton fans suddenly care about drivers' wellbeing. RBR was relentlessly mocked for being angry over Hamilton celebrating for his home crowd after putting Verstappen in the wall.

This is nauseating. You know *exactly* who you are.
Hamilton inquired on the radio right after, about Max's well-being. You guys labelled it as lip service.

Let's assume it was. Max didn't even bother with that today.
Yeah, I guess his fans will turn on him now  Seriously though, it appeared Max didnt even look towards Lewis, just walked off without a care.
Are you still talking about this? Lewis was trying to reverse the car from underneath I recall when Max got out. How should he be concerned about Lewis’s health?? Not like he’s shunted off at high speed into the barrier. The car lies on top of the nose not on top of Lewis’s head.

It’s now getting silly. Stop it already. Stewards have spoken. On balance of how this incident came about I think by and large it’s the right call. No need to obfuscate and look for things to get upset about.
And I’m not a Max fan per se. I think his outbursts are immature (I’m Dutch too but live in England).

Appeals automatically don't really go anywhere. The FIA sporting code *and* the F1 penalty regulations are deliberately extremely vague so the stewards have a lot of leeway in making their decisions.

This apparently includes the ability to rewrite the rulebook on corner entry lunges. Braking later than your opponent is integral to that move. Verstappen still made turn 1 and was on course to make turn 2, but apparently a driver isn't allowed to brake later anymore.

After Max crashed he only said "that's what you get when you don't leave space" and got out of his car.

Unfair penalty in my opinion, I was on Brundle with this and it was hard racing... no need to give him a kick after.

3 place grid drop for Max.

https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files ... lision.pdf
The Stewards heard from the driver of car 33 (Max Verstappen), the driver of car 44
(Lewis Hamilton) and team representatives, reviewed the video evidence and
determined that the driver of Car 33 was predominantly to blame for the collision with
Car 44 at Turn 2.

Car 44 was exiting the pits. Car 33 was on the main straight. At the 50m board before
Turn 1, Car 44 was significantly ahead of Car 33. Car 33 braked late and started to
move alongside Car 44, although at no point in the sequence does Car 33 get any
further forward than just behind the front wheel of Car 44.

During the hearing the driver of Car 33 asserted that the cause of the incident was
the driver of Car 44 opening the steering after Turn 1 and “squeezing” him to the
apex of turn 2. The driver of Car 44 asserted that the driver of Car 33 attempted to
pass very late and should have given up the corner either by backing off sooner, or
by turning left behind the kerb.

The Stewards observed on CCTV footage that the driver of Car 44 was driving an
avoiding line, although his position caused Car 33 to go onto the kerb. But further, the
Stewards observed that Car 33 was not at all alongside Car 44 until significantly into
the entry into Turn 1. In the opinion of the Stewards, this manoeuvre was attempted
too late for the driver of Car 33 to have “the right to racing room”. While Car 44 could
have steered further from the kerb to avoid the incident, the Stewards determined that
his position was reasonable and therefore find that the driver of Car 33 was
predominantly to blame for the incident.

He said it after checking that the Mercedes was incapacitated.

If the Mercedes was able to continue even for a handful of points, I am not really sure what his comments would be.

Yeah I was not being serious, hence it was followed by "seriously" . Also like to add, Lewis saw Max get out and walk away at Silverstone, so same applies there.

Well i am glad even for a little drop of justice.
It's shocking that this is what it takes for Max to be penalized; a wheel on a driver's head with Max saying that the driver deserves that treatment.
He is losing the psychological battle. Very weak minded little guy.
Lewis should be the one upset, but instead is quite calm about everything.
Max will not be WDC this yeah.. i just sense he just doesnt have the mind for it.
His tirade started after the poor pitstop. Cursing at his team and getting flustered.

Lewis was trailing him in this race going slower on hard tyres, not even challenging him. LH comes out the pits on hard tyres and Max goes bonkers over LH being slightly ahead? when there is half a race left. The kid has no patience at all!
Lewis made 2 misteps today. 1. he should have followed Max into turn 4 and not try to overtake.
2. He should have came out on the otherside of Norris when he did temporarily get pass him.

He did a good Job to overtake Norris after Max's stop and i think that set him up nicely to attack for the win. But not a top perfromance by any means.

Max made many mistakes today. Worrying his head about his old teammate dani ric and botching the start and of course the collision.

It's a shame the incident has overshadowed what would is a great win for Mclaren in their rival's backyard.

Anyhow Sochi should be interesting. Mercedes need to be 1-2 in qualy. Mclaren need to be 3-4 so Max can start in P8 and see if he is going to bully his way past backmarkers again.
For Sure!!

Considering the 10s time penalty for Lewis got after the 300km/hour Silverstone incident (which RB also costs budget ánd engine penalty), this 3 place grid drop seems a bit odd, even tough it might have been a bit too opertunistic

Interested to see if Mercedes protest for a more serious penalty like Red Bull did in Silverstone? maybe even get George to waste time and money copying the lines Max took during a Pirelli tyre test.

Justice is served, though only a slim morsel of it. Lewis is sore, but thank God there is no broken bone. He says he is blessed and I agree, could have missed a couple races like Mark Webber for a sore neck. Outside of that, this wasn't a good performance by him.

Anyway, never got to say congrats to Mclaren. I am quite chuffed for Daniel on his first win outside of RedBull. Norris was a bit forward in asking to switch places wasnt he? And today I fully realise that this Lando boy, he plays little tricks with the rules quite a lot. A sneaky one.

Ferrari.. just lacking that engine power. I think they should have gone lighter on the downforce here. decent performance by both drivers none the less.

Williams.. did anyone see when Russell out muscled Lattifi for those positions?! I didn't quite see it, but I think Russell and Latiffi won't be friends after this!

Poor Vettel was outmuscled by Lance too. Not to mention the younger drivers were bullying him all over the place. I was wondering what did he do to deserve it. Didn't even get any attention by the stewards.

Shame you waste so much time talking drivel
Well looks like you were the one talking drivel based on the steward's statement. Which was clear to see for anyone who is not new to F1. It was max fans opinion lewis feared max and botched the start at the sprint race. Now we get a botch start from P1 on the clean side of the track. Does not the same logic apply?

Anyhow see you in Russia!
And to Max.. dont change a thing about your driving style. Keep on bucking on!
Soon redbull will be out of engines!

I am sure that engine or gearbox is damaged.
