So pushing at 200 miles per hour your opponent off, take 25 points is OK
But here , VES got 3 places penalty… this will kill the championship this is ridiculous
Factually inaccurate. No one pushed anyone off. One driver cut across the other in Silverstone. And 10 second stop and go is worse than 3 places.
Even though the ending of the crash was quite severe, Lewis is also not innocent. Max was beside him going into the corner and little he did to avoid the crash. 7time world champion should avoid a crash like this at all times, even if this means losing the spot for a moment. Dont want to be a "would, should, could" type of guy, but if Lewis would take a bit of evasive action and let Max space and position, he would get much better traction and line at acceleration - especially since Mercedes is much stronger in this than RedBull and could have gone past, instead he decided to close the door and somewhat retaliate for lap one push that Max performed. Both of them get a rush of sh*t in their heads when they are next to each other.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 20:27Whole heartedly agree. I have experienced spinal (cervical? ) compression from out in the field and it isn't nice to say the least. judgement there. He'd have been better off bailing on the move early and regrouping for another
overtake attempt later. If not for the roll cage hoop and the halo plus Lewis lowering his head, we could have been talking about something much worse. From what I've seen on twitter etc some are not really appreciating just how lucky Lewis is and how much trouble Max could have gotten himself into.
One thing that's always irritated me about Max is his expectation that other drivers will simply move out of his way, just because he's there. I hope Max will learn from this and improve as a driver, he's got some rough edges that could cost him this year's title.
Lewis may seem fine now, but when the swelling sets in tonight, it will be a very painful sleep for him. Hopefully one week with medication is enough to keep inflamation down and thank God Sochi is not a sustained G-force track.
If the Halo wasn't there definitely you might be seeing a something quite nasty. Something I don't want to imagine.
I think Max should not have attempted that move knowing the sausage curb was there. It was overly optimistic by any angle. It was clear that he was not setting up to lead into turn three but to flip the coin, bang wheels and pray to end up the better of the two.
Punishment I think should have been a five placer but I cant complain. Just glad there are no serious injuries.
One must assume you think max should have given more room on lap one as well then?proteus wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 20:57Even though the ending of the crash was quite severe, Lewis is also not innocent. People who know the rule book better than anyone here. If Max was to take a whole new PU, would he then have to serve the 3 place penalty as something else?hugobos wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 21:00For the Canadian GP 2015 the penalty’s were solved like this:
And I do not have a hidden agenda to bash Max …just to clarify penalty upon penalty .
No / Driver 33 – Max Verstappen Competitor Scuderia Toro Rosso
In accordance with Article 28.4 a) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations a ten grid place penalty was imposed on the driver of car 33 (refer Document 20). However, as the driver qualified in position 12, and a five grid place penalty from the Monaco GP has already been imposed, only 2 places of the ten grid place penalty can be applied. Therefore, in accordance with Article 28.4 c) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations the remainder of the ten grid position penalty will be taken as a 10 Second Time Penalty (Article 16.3 b).
Lap one incident was all on Max, but as we know comisars are aparently very leniant for lap one incidents.Starkblood80 wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 21:12One must assume you think max should have given more room on lap one as well then?proteus wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 20:57Even though the ending of the crash was quite severe, Lewis is also not innocent. Sore as it sounds I am not certain this really couldn't have played. I am sure VER hadn't forgotten the 51G incident. Although to me it looked as nothing more than an overeager attempt to take benefit of HAM's cold tires.
Yes. I did find this a disappointing outcome, although privately I’m sure RBR will see it as a win or at least damage minimised.TNTHead wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 21:38Sore as it sounds I am not certain this really couldn't have played. What worries me is that this could derail in an all out war with an ugly look for the spectators.
