They’ll probably show Mazepin breaking Steiner's office door instead
He is well alongside, because he is not making an attempt to turn, but an attempt to torpedo Hamilton, with jumping over the kerb to boot. A bit like He was twitching because he's got my axe embedded in his nervous system!JordanMugen wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 22:35The-Race.com's photo is quite interesting and shows Verstappen well alongside:

Yeah, well .. we did in 2016, the last few years there was noone that Ham competed with except for Bot. Only then James would be on the radio ...Starkblood80 wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 22:50You’d be correct if we saw the same incidents happening with Hamilton and other drivers but we don’t.langedweil wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 22:46Goes both ways ofcourse ..Starkblood80 wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 21:57Verstappen just needs to learn how to race wheel to wheel and when to look further forward than the corner he’s driving around and concede the position.
I agree. Look how late he is still steering to the right! He is only transitioning to left steering input as his car is at the orange kerb.Mogster wrote:The more you watch it Verstappen was never making the corner at that speed. I assume that was the crux of the penalty decision. The Stewards will have his telemetry.
Out of my head 2018? Monza? Move with Vettel?langedweil wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 23:00Yeah, well .. we did in 2016, the last few years there was noone that Ham competed with except for Bot. And no way of making the corner without using the car to his right as a bumper car.JordanMugen wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 22:35The-Race.com's photo is quite interesting and shows Verstappen well alongside:

Nevertheless, Red Bull will accept stewards' penalty without complaint.
As also noted in the above posts, the problem for Verstappen was that the fact he rode over that sausage was because he had some wheels off the track. With gravel, he wouldn't even have got this far. Maybe with spikes instead of a sausage kerb we would have a different result, but it wouldn't have been any better of Verstappen.carisi2k wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 22:56The stewards are using my argument for Silverstone incorrectly in this circumstance. The argument for not being up far enough is incorrect in this case because Max was at least 2/3's of the way up beside Lewis at all points and this was including Lewis crowding Max in to turn one braking. This was a racing incident but in my eyes this incident was caused by a circuit fault. If there is grass or kitty litter then both drivers can sort this out going up to the next chicane. Because of those damned infernal sausage kerbs it launched Max in to Lewis. Max shouldn't be getting a penalty for this as the pass was on and it was only a circuit obstacle that shouldn't be there that caused the incident.
Come on, you know and I know that comment is horses**tlangedweil wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 23:00Yeah, well .. we did in 2016, the last few years there was noone that Ham competed with except for Bot. I'm sorry but your wrong. From what I can see from replays Max is always within the realms of the track. In other words his time would not have been deleted in qualifying. This was Lewis trying to defend his position and Max trying to make a pass and the track failing us because of that sausage kerb. It was a racing incident and a championship incident. Max getting a penalty for a circuit failure is 100% wrong.
More investigation should be done to determine if it was deliberateJordanFiveOh wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 23:06I agree. Look how late he is still steering to the right! It’s not like Verstappen didn’t know that kerb was there.carisi2k wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 23:29I'm sorry but your wrong. From what I can see from replays Max is always within the realms of the track. This thinking is so stupid. And I know its not only you. 2017, 18 and 19 Hamilton was competing against Ferrari. OK, it was more or less an illegal Ferrari PU-wise but dont keep saying there was no other contender for the WDC.langedweil wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021, 23:00Yeah, well .. we did in 2016, the last few years there was noone that Ham competed with except for Bot.
