i think the no refueling is the significant change...
I know fota had proposed a further 50% downforce reduction, but not sure if this was adopted at the recent world council meeting?

What? Giving up on this season already?

I just have feeling that McLaren messed up the general balance of the car weight distribution/wheelbase, they might get better this year but not any faster then the already fast teams. That link i posted before had them kinda sounding like they were looking forward to next season already

Hey, as many people have already pointed out (inluding Brundle and...oh, yeah...YOU... ), this car seems drivable enough. Let's see what happens a few races from now. Especially if the "illegal" venturis are legalized for good or not. Then VMM has a dierection to focus on. Right now, making huge development strides on any direction could just be a waste of resources. Better wait and then develop like mad than lose focus and then a whole lot more.

They can't change the car between qualifying and the race - what's there to improve? The car is slow - both Hamilton and Kovalainen failed to shine this qualifying.

In F1? I haven't. Have you?

i think that is right, but they do seem to be able to get a reasonable mechanical balance after a bit of playing around. Its one thing the drivers arnt complaining about.
I hear the wheel base will be addressed with their suspension development
My congrats to lewis for a momumental effort.

Hi guys, I'm new here. As you can see I'm a mclaren fan. I hope they can turn things around quickly. Melbourne was a lucky escape but nonetheless a superb drive from the lewismeister. Kovy hit troubles, a real pity.

Malaysia will be tough said whitmarsh. I don't expect points, maybe 1-2 if a lot of cars fail to finish due to unreliability but the high number of crashes in melbourne won't be repeated I think.

Anyone noticed on the bbc channel: mcl think they will be back (going for wins) by Spain (barcelona). So that would mean 3 races in pain and then: the comeback. Let us pray [-o< Go Macca!!!

I read on another forum that they have a new diffuser for Bahrein which will bring them 0.5 sec. (all the bodywork is prepared already, gearbox, suspension etc)
Don't know if it's true...
On another forum I read that MAYBE they'll be on pace even before spain.

Oh and euh, rain expected in sepang on saturday and sunday.
Mercedes AMG + Hamilton => dreamteam!
If you can't beat'em, call Masi!

I think rain has to be a good for macca. It introduces a random element which when you're not looking at getting points has to be a good thing.

Is it meant to rain all week in Malaysia?

Apparently it's raining today, tomorrow and Tuesday.

I can't remember the "wet" race we had at Malaysia, my memory is terrible. We haven't had a completely wet race yet have we? Could make things interesting at turns 7-8, not to mention 1 and 2.

Rain all weekend apparently. Does that mean Ferrari can't use their KERS? I seem to remember them having to disengage the system in testing when it got wet. Unfortunately, since the macca's lacking in downforce it'll be effected more than most by the wet. Then again, Hamilton is pretty good when it comes to driving in the rain so who knows.
