Well...unfortunately Alonso is the only one even still daring to say something. I think it is highly disrespectful in a sport that allows a competitive tilt in a way that a 25 place grid drop results in a win with a 10 sec gap to the next competitor, to even dare to insult the stewarding council and rule makers.ringo wrote: ↑15 Nov 2021, 22:49Given that there was no investigation for what was obviously something that should have been.
Should there be a higher level investigation for incompetent or corrupt stewarding?
It sets a bad precedent if Stewards turn a blind eye to infractions during an event. We can see this kind of driving basically ruining the sport if nothing is done.
You can imagine if there was some big bets placed for Max to win with Lewis at the back of the sprint race and the stewarding was rigged to ensure that happens. We never know. So it needs to be looked into.
I would watch the Silverstone one again if I were you, all four wheels over the white line (which marks the edge of the track); I agree with you on the part about consequences, however, what is supposed to happen and what does happen are often not quite the same. Which is unfortunate!!!Starkblood80 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 09:12Hamilton stayed on track at silverstone and has been said before, stewards are not supposed to look at the consequences of an incident, only the intent.Stu wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 09:07Not really wanting to drag in the racing incident at Silverstone again, but there is only a single difference between that and this lap 49 incident - CONTACT - in both incidents, both protagonists entered the corner too fast, off-line and with the same mentality; at Silverstone neither stayed on the track, the only reason for the penalty in that incident was the contact (causing a collision).
Maybe you should check the track limits before claiming he left the track ?Stu wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 14:04I would watch the Silverstone one again if I were you, all four wheels over the white line (which marks the edge of the track); I agree with you on the part about consequences, however, what is supposed to happen and what does happen are often not quite the same. Not really wanting to drag in the racing incident at Silverstone again, but there is only a single difference between that and this lap 49 incident - CONTACT - in both incidents, both protagonists entered the corner too fast, off-line and with the same mentality; at Silverstone neither stayed on the track, the only reason for the penalty in that incident was the contact (causing a collision).
There was a similar incident this weekend involving Lance Stroll (who seems to make a bit of a habit of ‘chopping people off’), I can’t recall a penalty being given for that - or even and “under investigation” notice.
Brakes later than Lewis off line, then barely turns the wheel until its way too late and still runs off track.
It's clear that hamilton is ahead, actually by more than I thought, Verstappen doesn't open the steering up to a huge degree but he's definitely just divebombed down the inside and broke too late to make the corner forcing hamilton off the track. So long as hamilton isn't penalised for doing the same thing then I"m fine with it. The issue is that had hamilton turned in and taken the corner, then he would've been nerfed by Verstappen - but he didn't and won the race anyway. I would say though that it isn't until he's actually going off track that verstappen puts in full steering lock. This has definitely been given before but as I said, I'm fine with it so long as we don't see one rule for max and a different one for everyone else, which is how it has seemed a little bit recently.
It's extremely conclusive imo.
Yes if u see the speed trace of his telemetry u can see he speed up mid cornerbonjon1979 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 14:48I don't know if he's dabbed the throttle mid corner. Isn't it just that as he goes down through the gears, the rev counter jumps up?
