I believe the commercial rights holder has a hand in the skewness that we have been seeing. I notice even with the commentators like Karun, Brundle, his son, etc. They've been given instructions to just hype up the "let them race" nonsense; which reduces to sport to sloppy driving being called skill. Even this type of driving is beneath Mazepin, who has improved his race craft. Max is a talented and fast driver and has good car control, but for some reason his confidence in his own abilities seem lacking. Someone mentioned Perez vs Hamilton, and that was very good example of skilled driving, craft, and self confidence.
Let's see the Stewards response. I am also wondering if Domenicali will have a say in the poor stewarding that was on display last weekend.
For Sure!!

Max was 40 Kph faster than the previous lap?

I.e. was literally never going to do anything other than going straight on and crash unless the other car went off the track to avoid it.
I still think that the stewards would just brush it under carpet and would not take any action
I hope that's the case, but this will expose the poor driving from Max and incredible cover up from FIA (I believe that's what Merc are also trying to do)

Hardly surprising Merc are appealing; they were given next to no slack while others changed items on the car. If given no quarter, you should expect no quarter.. lets hope not many enemies are made in the process.

I'm hoping the comment of "say hi" from Max to the stewards has pissed them off enough to actually act as they should on this one.

Sorry if it’s been posted already, but the GAS example is how it should look when you’re on the limit of adhesion.

Team ANTI-HYPE. Prove it, then I’ll anoint you.

Yeah, that was stupid, but on par for a 24yo who has had adults telling him he's the best thing since ever for most of his life and covering for him.

That does extend to many on the grid as well.

Possible basis for part of the review? Thinking of the "influential" let-them-race call from Red Bull to Masi related to whether the lap 48 incident should be investigated.

ARTICLE 12.2 BREACH OF RULES
...
12.2.1.l Any infringement of the principles of fairness in Competition, behaviour in an unsportsmanlike manner or attempt to influence the result of a Competition in a way that is contrary to sporting ethics.

Race Control to Principals should be one way communication, unless Race Control specifically gives them permission.

Nah, As a neutral party, I actually thought it was funny.

Personally I think the weaving rule is stupid, I think unless someone is trying to pass there shouldn’t be an issue with it. You’re just trying to shake off the car following you off your slipstream.

I see people finally commenting on the "Yeah perfect, say hi" response from Verstappen about his black and white flag warning.I thought i was the only one annoyed by this and i dare say even more annoyed than the move he pulled couple of laps earlier on Hamilton. It really shows the mentality of "I'm the best and untouchable" that RB and partially FIA built into him and thats showing.Pure arrogance and disrespect and i cant even defend it as the "heat of the moment" as Vettel said "Here's a message to Charlie, f**k off!" some years ago. You could hear the calmness the irony and full conciousness in his voice.

This new footage would be helpful if this was actually on the edge of being considered as legal defending/attacking. However this move was not even close to being on the edge (ironically it was actually 8m off the edge :)). Therefore it will only show what we already knew but stewards choose not to see. Either way, Merc was right to bring media attention to this a bit more.

The rule is in place to prevent exactly what happened here.

and here.

When you move like that you can cause an accident in a few ways. You can do it so late that's the driver simply doesn't have the time and space to react (the kimi incident). You can also starve the car behinds front wing of airflow at the last second, drastically increasing the distance it needs to slow down (the Danny incident).

It's just sarcasm from verstappen IMO.
