I believe the phrase you refer to is the "Yeah perfect, say hi" correct? If yes, then no,it doesnt have a cultural or social reference related i just happened at the time to find his answer like coming from a spoiled kid, more like "bla bla bla,i dont care".dans79 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 20:07Is their a social or cultural reference related to that phrase that's as an American I don't know?Poleman wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 19:57I see people finally commenting on the "Yeah perfect, say hi" response from Verstappen about his black and white flag warning.I thought i was the only one annoyed by this and i dare say even more annoyed than the move he pulled couple of laps earlier on Hamilton. It really shows the mentality of "I'm the best and untouchable" that RB and partially FIA built into him and thats showing.Pure arrogance and disrespect and i cant even defend it as the "heat of the moment" as Vettel said "Here's a message to Charlie, f**k off!" some years ago. You could hear the calmness the irony and full conciousness in his voice.
Yea, that is what I meant, thank you!
Yeah i can aggree with you on the penalization and also the fellow member above that said that it was sarcasm.I think while it may be entartaining and funny it just came out to me as if he kinda knows that more than likely he can escape unpunished and thats why he is being able to make these funny/sarcastic/ironic comments.Oh well!AeroDynamic wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 20:19I thought it was funny, I loved it. However, I will be annoyed if the FIA don't apply the rules with Max, all the while taunting them in public while getting away with crimes against the sport. That's a mockery I mean how many weak-ass stewards work with Massi to let that go on? As long as crimes are penalised, I don't care what drivers are saying in the cockpit. I think its good for TV and the show, unlike the racing we have seen at times

Bullying your opponents off the road -which is what he's almost always done- isn't wheel to wheel racing skill, but putting on display lack thereof. People shouldn't have to avoid you because of the trouble you're causing, stop doing it, or there'll be consequences is the clear message he should receive.
He should've been reigned in loooong ago tho.
This is intentionally setting up an accident to keep the lead in the championship; then followed by intentionally breaking another rule by weaving on the straight. It's a total disregard of the rules. If Hamilton did both.. he would have a race ban. A 5 place penalty is actually light, because he would be able to race to P-2 or P-3 anyway.
In fact losing 2nd to Bottas is probably a bigger setback.
My point is the driver has to be materially punished. His behavior is the worst I have seen ever in F-1. I do not recall another driver breaking the rules twice, then mouthing off to the stewards after.
Apparently you forgot a penalty was given out in Silverstone?
No, you right. Thats exactly what its about. He knows everyone has a yellow card / tactical foul to play at some point in a Grand Prix, so he took it. I love a rebel though. All im saying is, as long as he's held accountable like everyone else, that I don't mind what swagger he got or how he wants to carry himself in his ride.Poleman wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 20:28Yeah i can aggree with you on the penalization and also the fellow member above that said that it was sarcasm.I think while it may be entartaining and funny it just came out to me as if he kinda knows that more than likely he can escape unpunished and thats why he is being able to make these funny/sarcastic/ironic comments.Oh well!AeroDynamic wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 20:19I thought it was funny, I loved it. I haven't looked back at the weaving video, but I don't recall Hamilton being as close as say Daniel was. Again, if the driver is attempting to pass, then yes, I agree it should not be allowed... even penalized. But if there is enough distance, then I'm OK with it. I think in an attempt to make passing easier to make it more exciting for the fans (don't get me started on DRS... thats another one I loathe), they are taking away too much pure racing, and less reliance on drivers instincts in my opinion.dans79 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 20:01The rule is in place to prevent exactly what happened here.

and here.

When you move like that you can cause an accident in a few ways. You can do it so late that's the driver simply doesn't have the time and space to react (the kimi incident). You can also starve the car behinds front wing of airflow at the last second, drastically increasing the distance it needs to slow down (the Danny incident).
Different. No intent there by any driver to break any rules.sosic2121 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 20:30Silverstoneringo wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 18:58Well for me, other drivers like Russel have been penalized when honestly racing and causing an accident.Shrieker wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 18:50

Trivia, but important. Black flag is 'you are disqualified, go to the pits now'. the flag Max got was just general warning he has been naughtyAeroDynamic wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 21:29Go back to Bahrain. What was Max’s position on that FIA intervention to give the place back? “Why didn’t you let me go? I could’ve easily made those 5 seconds”
That’s Max’s game summed up really. He might as well be naughty with Lewis in that scenario, what’s the worse that can happen? 5 seconds? He’s probably gonna finish p2 anyway, he might as well take the risk to keep p1. That’s even if it warrants 5 seconds. If you get some chicken sh1t response from the FIA - ‘black flag’ what’s that gonna do? It don carry over into the future and you only need to play that hand once. To which you can say, “yeah perfect. Say hi”
The fia have got the rules of the game all fukked up. They should penalise drivers with championship points: 1 point for a black flag . Drivers care about pts not warnings. And don’t get me started on license points, that’s like a handful of yellow cards to play.
I thought so, but black and white flag makes me think of the . And that ain’t the one to wave at a naughty racerBig Tea wrote: ↑16 Nov 2021, 21:40Trivia, but important.
