Alonso doesn't hate Hamilton. The only time they've been on track competitively in recent years was Hungary and Alonso had a very clear mission; to protect Ocon's win.

I'd very much doubt he'd be biased one way or another outside of protecting his own or his team's interests. With that in mind his only mission will be to get ahead of Gasly.
I beg to differ.

for one, Alonso and Max are VERY close off track. Max idolised Alonso. Alonso knows he has a fan in Max.

Alonso on the other hand, has had hardly anything good to say in Hamiltons direction in the press conferences, or in the media elsewhere. In fact, he cannot keep Hamilton out of his mouth. He is probably still pissy about HAM capsizing his career in 07, and HAM bragging about it to Max in that press conference a couple of years back.

Alonso jest that he helped max Win in Hungary, but it is also the truth; he does want Max to win the title, that bias is real. I'm sure he's professional enough to race for positions but he is also human enough to have his own bias and not impede max unless he has to or can't get away with making it too obvious.
Lol, Alonso and Hamilton are generally very complimentary of each other and indeed Alonso was one of the first to personally go and congratulate Hamilton on his 2014 win.

Alpine and Alpha Tauri have a huge (relatively) battle going on in the WCC and anything else will be secondary to both teams. If anything though, there is absolutely no love lost between Alpine and Red Bull so I'd hardly expect them to be doing each other favours.
Funny, I was thinking about the same thing.

Just look at Russia to see what Alonso would do for/against Verstappen. Alonso is a fair racer, always has been (imo). He's not going to drive Hamilton or Verstappen off track, nor is going to gift a place to either one of them.

Who knows he may feel he has a point to be made after last week.

2014?? That’s almost 10 years ago mate. That was after Alonso was fed up getting his ass whipped by Vettel in red bull’s, and wanted someone else to win. That was also at a time when HAM was just the single title to his name, and Alonso still had that cloud hanging over him being beaten by the then unseen 7 time champion he would go on to be. Since ham has been compared to Schumacher, it’s a different time.. Way different times. And certainly before they started having less kind things going on between them in the last couple of years, notably since HAM bragged about beating him as a rookie. Since Alonso came back, it hasn’t all been sweet like you seem to think. I genuinely think you haven’t really caught all the little things that have been said from various drivers.

You were the one who brought up '07!

Regardless, the point still stands, Alpine vs Alpha Tauri will be far more important to Alonso than Lewis vs Max.

 Yeah McLaren, FIA and Hamilton beated Alonso in 2007, just by 1 point despite all the unfair decisions towards Lewis but hey, they all togheter beated Alonso, agree :P

But that was 14 years ago. Nowadays no decision is conditioned by that, period. Alonso today do the best for himself and his team. He´s battled hard with both Lewis and Max, as any other

I´ve not seen any change in Alonso´s view of Lewis through the years tough, he´s always respect him, even in 2008. It´s the media who tried to show them as enemies, but it was FIA and specially Mclaren who were not fair with Alonso, not Lewis

Did he congratulate HAM 08 title the same way? If he did I’ll concede, but I’m guessing he likely didn’t.

Point being, he wasn’t fed up with losing to someone else at the time, and was happy to see a new winner in 2014, especially the guy who could help him save face some more after that 07 battle.

2014 was very different because he got beat 4 times consecutively by Vettel and as he suggested twice in the media, Vettel was unproven outside of the red bull, and he even went as far as saying he thinks HAM is the better driver between them. That’s how pissy he was about Vettel dominating the sport when he felt he had the sport-and the paddock- by the ass. But Vettel and ham saw his reign end very quick.

Now that HAM has dominated for nearly twice as many seasons, the old wily fox is back at his envy having opinions about anyone looking like the man other than himself.

The top RW element on the RBR is still flapping about or rocking on it’s pivot point- albeit somewhat slower- after all that tinkering.

Seems to me that it’s by design.
Correct. They are trying to repair the design. But a true solution costs a token.
But it hasn’t been like it all season, so why now? They have a design that works just fine and there’s no way a team with their resources doesn’t have the correct replacement parts.
Yeah, DRS has been around a while so you would expect them to have a stable solution. As they didn't use any tokens, it should have been the same design the whole season. But surely a lot of other things changed on the car so maybe that caused this or simply some wear. We simply don't know and it is not relevant. There was a picture on motorsport.com that shows the design. There is a thin arm pulling up the wing. When the wing is "open" this little arm is almost horizontal. Allthough I am not a mechanics designer, I think with that geometry, it needs very little play to cause fluttering. But I am by no means sure this is (a part of) the reason.
