VSC ending just after Hamilton starts his last lap and therefore can't attempt FL.
Yeah was funny, i said to my wife that that I bet it goes away after Lewis starts his last lap, but before Max starts his.
Doesn't matter. Max would have had a free pitstop to reds anyway and picked up FL.. Can't pin this on the marshals.
Exactly.

Pinning things on the marshals is a low bs move by horner. Marshals always do a top top job and I respect them massively. The stewards and race director on the other hand.

Vettle esque drive from hamilton. W12 doing the work from the front, him coming along for the drive.... the man?
The car is nothing without the man! All you have to do it Look at where redbull and Mercedes number 2 drivers finished compared to there teammates.

What BS is this? That timing was SO suspect. ‘Let’s stop Hamilton having any chance of fastest lap AND time it perfectly so Verstappen gets another chance on the soft tyres’.
It wouldn't matter. In all cases Hamilton can't pit because Verstappen then will NOT pit and inherit the lead. Even under VSC cheap pitstop they must have calculated they will come out behind.
Exactly so. Lewis just had to stay out and Max was always going to do the opposite and either take the FL with better tyres or take the win if Lewis pitted.
There's an off chance he's able to nick with a last lap attempt on mediums if VSC comes in 15-20s earlier. He'd have to up verstappen's medium fastest lap by 1s in order to beat verstappen's soft tyre lap. Perhaps not entirely unreasonable.

Absolutely crucial Fastest lap for Verstappen. It'll be very difficult for Hamilton to lead into the final race which, judging by the season so far, is a massive advantage for Verstappen.

Great result for Renault too and another solid showing for Ferrari. It's such a shame that Red Bull and Mercedes are so far in front of the other cars.
True, Although with many saying Saudi will suit the Mercedes, compared to here then you would have to say Merc have a chance for a very important 1-2 result.
Yeah. Bottas could have a massive say in this championship, but TBH I don’t think either he or Perez will be able to prevent Hamilton and Verstappen finishing 1-2 in some order in Saudi, assuming no misfortune for either of them.

Despite my earlier ranting that was a perfect VSC for Alonso! So happy to see the man back on the podium! =D> =D> =D>

Ah. This clown has been trying to get people to bite all weekend. Best ignored.

I don't even think Bottas (without the DNF) would have been fast enough to get the FL back from Max had he pitted for it ...

Yeah , although If Bottas was only 2 tenths from Max on a track that was most likely to be better for RB, then in Saudi, Bottas surely will be able to outqualify Max. We will see in 2 weeks time.

Exactly the timing was amazing convenient.

Hamilton sits there charging then uses it all in the last lap. Verstappen then holds the FL and has a yes/no decision. What actually happened was Verstappen had a no risk pit stop under VSC to take better tyres.

Agreed. I suspect they'll play a far more crucial role in the WCC.

If there hadn't been a spate punctures then he might have gone for it given the opportunity, but with the punctures the risk of trying and running wide on the wrong kerb and getting a puncture would have been too great. Not sure he'd have pulled off another Silverstone 3-wheeler here.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Yeah sometimes though things are just TOO convenient. I also when watching it live said ‘you watch the VSC disappear after Hamilton crosses the line’.
