Mercedes... In a race where you need to maximise everything. They've cost huge team points and even lewis one point swing.
Am i missing something??? Why run Bottas for more laps on the medium than he would have needed to do on the hards to get to the end? Even going for a one stop. Did they just forget he was in the race? They have been subpar for a long time strategy wise but today was absolutely ridiculous. A real brain fart.

Redbull would drive rings round them on strategy.

It was actually a bit unlucky for Bottas. He was driving at a good pace and was going to offset Perez quite nicely, but then the puncture happened. He didn’t look like he was struggling for grip at all, so the punctures were the surprise of the race.

Actually he’d lost the offset he only had 18 seconds on Perez. The time to bring him in was about 5 laps earlier.

Horner summoned to the stewards for breaching the sporting code. Wonder what this is for? Comments about the marshals or about other teams?

I imagine stewards. Sky announced today was the FIA’s volunteer day and Horner comes out with that ****.

No, Redbull has less to gain from only swapping the ICE like Merc did. The make a significant improvement, Redbull would need to take a new ICE TC MGU-H MGU-K, which will cost them 4x5 places, start from the back.

At the time he was lapping faster than Alonso, so I feel they were staying out to get a gap and clear Alonso.

He had enough time to come out ahead of Alonso at that point. And would have had a 12 or 13 lap offset (newer tyres) to Perez if he had pitted the lap before. Like what were they keeping him out so long for??? More laps on the mediums than on the hards?

Honestly, I hope that's what it's for , and that he gets a massive fine for it. It would be karma for his decade plus of two faced comments!

It’s getting to the point where they need to start thinking about what they say in terms of what the consequences would be.

If you continually slag off the people who dish out the penalties then it might not end well.
