Hi, are the any books or online resources that can educate me on aerodynamics I'm just wanting to learn about it as a general hobby, I'm studying IT when I go off to Uni so it's just for my own personal pleasure
I enjoyed it, it was easy to read and had lots of good information. The pictures inside look old(ish) but they're only pictures, everything inside is still relevant.
I think it's a good general start for aerodynamics:)
"Competition Car Downforce" is a pretty good starter, but I would take a look at Katz's "Race Car Aerodynamics" as well. McBeath explains some practical things, which Katz also talks about, but Katz goes into important detail in terms of the maths. They may seem dense and tough at first, but get used to it... aerodynamics is not simple! But I'm not an aero engineer, and I learned a LOT from that book. It was very fulfilling to gain the level of understanding that I did. With McBeath's book I kind of felt like I was reading an action-effect summary, and not getting root cause information.
