McLaren MCL36 Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Well, here's something real. The upper air intake is of a different shape, more reminiscent of the creation of MB W11.
Hole-tastic!!
The air intake would suggest reduced centreline cooling, maybe they are buying into the charge-cooling concept that ONLY AMG use with the Mercedes engine?
It looked to me like it was the same opening size, but squashed to be a little higher and slimmer but with the same intake volume. Is it actually smaller? I'd assumed the shape was an incremental help to get more air around the car to the rear.

My thoughts exactly

There's a very brief shot of the front wing I wonder if anyone can make out anything from it.

Not really, most of it is the same as we've seen before in stills.

I can't figure what else it would be... the object in the foreground confuses me though...

I’m really confused by it too… I thought the object in the foreground could be part of the nosecone.

Not allowed slots in the diffuser. Could be the floor edge wing, but I thought that was only 1 element.

A part of the front hub/brake assembly?

I think there's 2 parts. Something else is between the front wing and camera.

Is it the front wheel wake vane that sits above the front wheel? The focus blur could be making it look thicker than it is?
