Thanks
It will be a long countdown, after so many years asking for ground effect cars I can´t believe they´re finally here!
It needs to be reverse wdc order and combine it to the results of qualifying(as it is now) to form the grid of the GP.
If reverse grid then what will be the incentive to finish 1st in the sprint race? more points than the actual GP? Wont that devalue the grand prix on Sunday?BlueCheetah66 wrote: ↑23 Dec 2021, 23:59Im still surprised they aren't following the same sprint format as Formula 2. Reversing the top 10 will bring some more racing and not having it decide the grid will probably make drivers more willing to make moves if there are better points available
I saw that interview yesterday and almost said a little prayer.mclaren111 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 11:07https://www.motorsportweek.com/2022/01/ ... 022-brown/

Yes, I hope so too! But don't count on it.mclaren111 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 11:07https://www.motorsportweek.com/2022/01/ ... 022-brown/

It's a shame if they did. It's so much value for audience that attends those events and a properly loaded weekend. All the sprint weekends provided spectacular entertainment. If the concern is about losing parts as part of the tussle, that should be sorted instead of canceling it outright. A 5 million addition is a no brainer with some riders where such allowance is available for a team that had damages in racing incidents. Not giving a proper chance to see how it would add to the 2022 spectacle is an absolute shame.mclaren111 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 11:07https://www.motorsportweek.com/2022/01/ ... 022-brown/

We can disagree on this, but I absolutely loved the sprint weekend. I am more excited for the 6 weekends where there is sprint (unless it fails to materialize). It's more fun than a boring friday that no one cares. Where did you get that 7% from? I haven't seen any authentic, published report about a survey outcome from FOM.Wouter wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 11:52.Ryar wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 11:38.mclaren111 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 11:07https://www.motorsportweek.com/2022/01/ ... 022-brown/

Not giving a proper chance is an absolute shame? ?
They had that chance in 2021 and it turned out that it was only appreciated by 7% of the viewers.
Plus, we've never had so much excitement in a season. Those sprint race weekends were completely unnecessary.
In addition, everyone has to design a new car with the aim of making the races even more exciting than last season.
There will be more than enough excitement this season, we don't need those boring Sprint race weekends for that.

Formula 1 is "not even thinking" about holding a sprint race at every grand prix, according to Stefano Domenicali, as fans expressed their opposition in the biggest-ever global survey.
The results of the F1 Global Survey commissioned by Motorsport Network in partnership with F1 and Nielsen Sports were released on Thursday ahead of the United States Grand Prix after responses from more than 167,000 fans in 187 different countries.
F1 has held two sprint races so far this year at Silverstone and Monza, and has a third scheduled for the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos. The revised weekend format is set to be expanded to around half a dozen events in 2022.
While the survey found there was a 7% net approval of sprint races improving the show in F1, there was an overwhelming rejection of introducing them to every event, with 60% of fans saying they disagreed.
