Haas VF-22

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

We normally do not open the car threads until the first pic in "flesh and carbon fibre" appears. Too many things can and often do change from first render to tarmac.

So let's stick to the speculation thread until then?

Guenther Steiner confirmed the VF-22 rendering reflects an earlier development stage and doesn't feature the latest upgrades.

Looks fairly similar to the renders. The sidepod intakes are larger and sligtly sloped backwards, and there is a black panel where probably the louvres will be.

has a unique front wing end plate with the canard arcing downwards instead of upwards, and an indent in the middle where it ends

Been lurking since the 2017 season, thought it was about time to join the discussion

The diveplane seems to slope downwards

Leading edge of the front wing endplate looks 'pointed' for lack of a better description

Well, actually, sidepods are completely different from the render. Seems to be same philosophy to Ferrari's.

Hard to tell with the white color, but it looks like broader sidepods with some inward curvature - a bit of Ferrari light. But could be mistaken there.

The rear of the sidepods look somewhat different from the renders to me. There is a clear crease running all the way to the back of the cokebottle, as if the sidepod continues to the back, almost like the Aston. The renders seem to show it sloping back more aggressively.

Seems completely different to the launch one with sidepod concept and FW similar to ferrari. The endplate seems wavy though..

Seems all Ferrari powered cars have gone for the high inboard wing by the nose

Overall philosophy looks fairly similar to Ferrari. Cool endplates and the livery looks way better on this developed shape

The side pods in the video looked a bit more Ferrari style to me?
