Same thing was asked of the Haas. It's definitely intentional. Most likely because the bargeboards disappeared and airflow has to be controlled differently. I'm no expert but that's seems to be the going theory.
The "barge board extension" (BBE) to the front edge of the floor certainly extends well forward. The FIA have basically given them a single bargeboard as part of the rules.
