I just don't know, it looks too noisy to me, not free flowing.
I had a go at "fixing" the McLaren livery:

Perhaps such a design as the left is too plain and too boring for the talented McLaren graphic designers? :)

The use of light blue and unpainted carbon (or black) certainly gives a more fun characteristic to the livery!

Honestly, I don’t think it needs fixing!

The use of the light blue was due to the very positive reception that the Gulf livery had last year

I just don’t get why some people do not like the new livery.

The car looks awesome on TV, the orange & blue literally glow, much better than the renders

Can’t wait to see it on track, especially at the night races

I think the black adds a bit of seriousness to the livery. As in we are coming for that WDC trophy, so look out! 😃

What I meant was that there's no clear Mclaren signature. Each and every year it looks like creating the livery from scratch, there's no continuity. In my opinion, the small teams can afford to change it every year, but not Mclaren. Just take a look at '80s and' 90s, hell even '00s McL liveries, there's a constant pattern

Gary Anderson doesn't think the push-rod rear suspension makes any sense. (Source: The Race YouTube)

That must mean it makes perfect sense

 Good news indeed!

But in all seriousness, it’s an odd decision that no one saw coming, and one that needs understanding as there is no way it was done without good reason, as GA suggested

I’m sure more will become obvious once we get to see what exactly is going on in the area, McLaren have been very secretive of the rear so far

Does seem odd given their position on the driver overalls and the fact the space they had on the car last year is also blank
