To regulate temperature. Same reason you tape up brake ducts.
Pretty typical on all racing cars on exceptionally cool days, and especially if they aren’t going 10/10ths. You figure most of racing season is done in summer months, asphalt temps being north of 40* C, and in certain classes, you are drafting a lot (reduced airflow), so the brakes / radiator ducts are engineered for that.
