Alfa Romeo C42

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

In purple the edges of engine cover and sidepods.
In yellow something interesting at exhaust level.. can't define it but it seems to have two different radius...

Is the lower front wishbone so beefy or is the camera playing tricks with us? Or do they have a single "mercedes 2014 style" single wish L there? (to free up as much space towards the floor intake)
It looks as though it has the track-rod running through it?

Yeah it looks like the pipe has to overlap inboard suspension elements

This, with none visible rear air exits or gills over the sidepod...

... a loophole allowing for a blown floor edge??

Saw someone say the diffuser is single kick. I think Godlameroso was talking about this in the 2022 comparison thread where a second "kick" is designed into the floor to help stop the flow at the throat of the diffuser from becoming sonic.

Hopefully he can come and explain it more detail.
Yeah, those posts were removed by a mod that knows aero, if I remember correctly. There'd be a reason for that.

I think there is a track/steering rod clear right in front of it, but behind that, it looks beefy. A “Merc 2014” solution would make sense if you want to clear that area, especially with a push rod. You will have a whole flow from under the nose, going straight into the floor

Their tunnels behind the entries seem to be very low, so low that the crash structure is protruding (the bump)

good catch. Looks like they're up against the whole of the flat portion of the floor
