They said the same thing after first day of testing in Barcelona 2009
I wonder what they were saying about 2014!

A team will only know in a negative sense, if they go full qualy mode and are still down by a margin. Other than that, we are in the dark.

Is Autosport talking about the pitot tubes? It's worded like they are talking about some kind of magical tape.
09:17 Here's a look at the pressure tappings on the Mercedes, as the team checks the airflow distribution in the airbox and on the rear wing:

According to the media and some, everything normal with mercedes is always ingenious super high tech, extremely developed ominous brilliant solutions.
They do it with everybody:

Mercedes is ingenious / high tech
Adrian Newey is a genius who single handily designs his cars
Ferrari, they use passionate and very dramatic expressions

“Mercedes brings out this new technology called a pressure tap. Wow!”

“Adrian Newey himself installs pitot tubes in the air duct. This is why he is so smart”

“Ferrari passionately measures the dramatic prose of the air as it leaps into the duct”.

Motorsports journalism is very formulaic, but it has to be, because most only see / know the same things we know.

The also love to play up the drama. for example.
09:47 Hamilton set a purple first sector on his most recent lap, but backed out of it to deprive us of further fun. Further shame.
Lecelrc is ~3.5 seconds off last years pole time, Any car on the grid could set a single purple sector right now if they wanted to.

What else are they going to write about for the next few weeks? It’s amazing they can spin material to get through the winter.

Most motorsports journalists are tabloid gabs and hype people.

some lap time information would be really easy, considering they are the only ones who have access to it.

Lap times without context is worthless. Only the teams know and the other teams have an idea due to knowing what they are capable of and their data collected / assumed about the competition.

I know, but it would still be better than the random babbling, at least we could attempt to gleam something from the times!

Sounds like a few teams have porpoising issues.

What stands out on the straight here: Some of the cars are very bumpy. Especially the Williams, but also the Aston Martin and the Alpine. On the Aston, it disappears when DRS is open. Red Bull stable, right up to the braking zone. Ferrari, Merc and AlphaTauri don't bounce at all.

Every car will have this especially on slow corners. The alpha tauri shakedown video had visoble pitching of the car.

It's a high speed behaviour?!
