I don't think the "cancel" culture should have a place in F1.

It's a bit of a stretch to call that cancel culture.Just Passing By wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 08:09I don't think the "cancel" culture should have a place in F1.
NATO got involved to stop a genocide. That's not a reason to cancel races.Just Passing By wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 08:05Not the first time. From March to June 1999, a war was fought on European soil in which the whole of NATO took part. No race in those countries has been canceled. I'm just saying.

Russia has invaded another country for no reasons other than it wants the territory and control of the Black Sea.
That's why the Russian GP should be dropped.
No. No one else will get involved in any meaningful military way. That's why Putin's gone in, after all.Zynerji wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 08:21Sooooo... WWIII looks to have begun.

That is true, but it's unlikely that China will actively get involved militarily in Ukraine. They might see their own opportunities, and if time comes, those will need to be evaluated in and of itself (together with active digressions of human rights by the country - but that has never seemed to be a big issue for F1. We could scrap half the calendar if it was).wogx wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 10:43Just_a_fan wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 10:26No. No one else will get involved in any meaningful military way. China disagrees that's an "invasion", so they might "not invade" Taiwan either
China can do what it likes. It makes so much of the world's goods that it is almost untouchable by financial sanctions.wogx wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 10:43Just_a_fan wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 10:26No. No one else will get involved in any meaningful military way. That's why Putin's gone in, after all.

True - I was looking here at the tickets site tickets.formula1.com. The calender there is jumping from Monza straight to Singapore.NathanOlder wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 11:27Still showing when I look, 23-25th sept. Round 17.

Maybe they just decided they don't want to sell tickets for the race anymore. Perhaps, in Russian style, one can just enter the track without authorization.Tim.Wright wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 11:40True - I was looking here at the tickets site tickets.formula1.com.
