Mercedes W13

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Looks to me the lower wishbone is angled to create some outwash too? Upper wishbones are nicely aligned to condition flow to the sidepods too.

From the front, this car looks like a very clean design.

Floor stay added to the Mercedes, probably to stop it flexing which could be causing the porpoising

That's how I see it. Look at the flexing in the following images:

Flexing. Bodywork. Not again!!
I have a feeling that the FIA have testing procedures in place (that isn’t somebody adding a bit of body weight to see if it moves).

I have seen a picture where there is a cooling tube pointing to the t-tray strut. On the Aston Martin it was a small fan. Both in the pit of course. Do they get that hot or is it something else?

If im not mistaken, the porpoising issue has been relatively quiet today? Be funny if Mercedes amongst other teams fixed this issue very straightforwardly, contrary to Sam Collins initial thoughts.

It's going to be an easy fix for most teams they're just pushing to see how far they can go without it.
