Or you cry or you laugh.
for clarity it was Webber who said that not Vettle. Everyone is saying they expect the tires to last much better than in Austrailia.

There was a slo-mo clip of Massa in T1 and the tyres were just shredding with bits flicking off all the way around the corner and into the face and cockpit of Felipe.

The soft tyres are going to be ruined with a heavy fuel load onboard. Prob best saved for a splash and dash at race end I would think..

after austrailia only a fool of a race engineer would run the options with more than 8-10 laps of fuel on board.

That being said watch Ferrari do it on both cars this weekend!

One thing to note was that Lewis Hamilton's MP4-24 was sporting the now-approved double-decker diffuser as well as a new design front wing. Team-mate Heikki Kovalainen's car had neither.
Lewis had the updated aero on his car, and yet Heikki managed to be fourth with the standard package. Any thoughts?
i believe mclaren had two versions of updated diffusor. I think both drivers ran both types at some point.
not sure we should call them DDDs, as it implies its using the brawn/toyota/williams concept...which it is not.

One of the best qualities of the Team (as of late) is that they learn from their mistakes.

That said, expect them to run on a race-ruining 5-stop strategy, forget to put ANY fuel on, mix front with rear tires or provide green helmet visors so the drivers won't know when the green lights are on at the start. Or something..

Does any one know or have a idea on the fuel burn rates at Shanghai???

I heard Antony Davidson say for the Toyota engines its arround 2.55kg per lap, rising to 2.7-2.75kg per lap for the more thirstier engines.

It would differ from car-to-car or more specifically engine-to-engine. What Davidson said is correct though, Toyota has pretty much the most fuel efficient engines on the grid.

Has anyone else asked this or should I play the role of Captain Obvious?

Why not a triple deck diffuser?

All in due time Giblet, just behold the Renault engineers at work. Only if that thing works half as good as it looks!

Why not just have 1 huge diffuser with an engine glued to it and 4 wheels? oh yeah and a steering wheel... but the diffuser can be the seat.

Speed TV has F1 quali blacked out on their channel.

It is in fact the first time I have seen "Off Air" in my PVR guide on speed during F1.

Is that retribution for my sarcastic answer? You must be joking right? What kind of reason can they have for blacking out an event at 2 a.M? If true I will be furious!

nah, nothing new there: piquet was still using the old diffuser, and got out in Q1

amazing though how both a toyota and a williams couldn't get to Q3: the ranking of cars is changing VERY fast

specially McL seems to have made huge improvements, let's hope renault's diffuser turns out a big difference too
