Red Bull RB18

Any images of the oil tank?
Thats an interesting area and it makes sense to have the weight down there.

right it was the Hass. But looking on that slot at the front and the different panels.. I would suspect a spring and damper maybe in there. The car will ride on that keel quite often. The slot may have sensors or camera or it may be to allow adjustment.
Red Bull run their oil tank in this location and the slot is probably just a sight-glass to enable that to be assessed.
Which oil tank? Hot engine oil nestled away under the driver's bum? Where is the vent? Sounds like disaster waiting to happen.

Double-check and confirm this.

RB16B and AT have it here.

I have seen this claim before but no engineer has confirmed whats inside it.

"Auxilliary oil" Scarbs says. Then Matt Sommerfield repeats.

One tiny line comes in at the top. Im not sure if it has a return line from the photos. It could be also a pneumatic tank... Just never seen this thing confirmed.

Well it's rare anything in F1 is confirmed by the teams. But regardless they have that module there in recent years so it stands to reason it's still there in their new splitter design.

It's probably a "hydraulic oil" overflow or something similar.

I ve been looking at this perforated plate on the radiator. It makes little sense to me.

Is it there to simulate less cooling for testing?

It's a way to adjust the cooling. Think of the tape on the nose of a Nascar. More tape, less drag.

It's a grate way to do it, tbh

Regarding the longbow, looks like RB15 had it too, or something like it:

Anyone have high res? In this application it's as though it was used to maximize the s-duct port.

Theoretically they could use it like a mass damper.

Looking on the space underneath the Rb18 side pods. Could that unpainted panel be replaced by dive planes that meet the minimum radius regulations? or would this violate a rule regarding how many closed cross sections are permitted? I havent read tech regs in years.
But if something wild were to be on the car it would be placing winglets in that open space.
For Sure!!

Are there any fancy changes like Mercedes, or is the car looking similar to the last test?

Looks very similar. Same sidepods, same beam wing & diffuser.

Hard to see if they made changes to the undercut & floor. In Barcelona it looked unfinished.
