Car seems to be running well. No bad behaviors just watching the afternoon session. Can't really tell much outside of that in terms of competitive order.

Curious to hear what Leclerc and Sainz say about it.

Ferrari looked amazing onboard. Particularly on that 34:5 by Leclerc, it was one of the only instances where I didn't see a car piss itself with understeer during that last corner.

It is and it's quite simple really. If Mercedes have managed a game changing reduction of cooler volume, it will result in a significant drag reduction. It will put them in an aerodynamic window that no one else can reach.
Why don't you go and bother others about it in the W13 car thread? This is Ferrari team thread, respect that.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Ferrari says that car setup & reliability testing was on the testing agenda today (Day 1), but also various solutions were tried to resolve the porpoising.

Ferrari have had correlation problems since 2018. And they still competed with mercs in 18/19. It'll be quite interesting to see them compete at the top now, without such problems in 22

Change at Ferrari - Luca Colajanni(Head of Ferrari Brand Strategy) has left the Team to work for the Italian Tennis Federation. There is no replacement for him yet.

If it helps, Russell did a similar stint on the same tyres and was about 9 tenths slower.

Medium stint looks good for Sainz. Very consistent.

EDIT: 13 laps in and still in the 1:40.x range.

Solid Day 2. Still some porpoising but it doesn't seem to be hurting lap times. Otherwise, the car is reliable and well-behaved. Can't really ask much more.

Hoping to see everyone open it up some tomorrow.

So Sainz has done two long runs on the C3 each. Though, between them he was in the pits for a few minutes, so not a typical race sim behavior.

Anyway, here are the times:

1:39.9 - 1:40.1 - 1:39.9 - 1:40.3 - 1:40.6 - 1:40.8 - 1:40.7 - 1:40.7 - 1:40.8 - 1:40.8 - Inlap

1:39.4 - 1:39.7 - 1:39.8 - 1:39.8 - 1:40.2 - 1:40.4 - 1:40.5 - 1:40.4 - 1:40.3 - 1:41.0 - 1:41.5 - 1:41.6 - Inlap

I understand why people are skeptical but I think Ferrari is starting this season in a good place. I don’t know if it’ll be a championship contender but its clear Binotto and team have done their homework.

I think I’m most optimistic about the new simulator and data correlation being good. That’s a big part of what Ferrari was missing previously.

Andreas Haupt from "auto, motor und sport" just gave another interesting interview, saying that all the teams agree on Ferrari having the best car ar the moment. Sources from Mercedes told him that they believe they think they are not even Nr. 3 behind Ferrari and Red Bull, with another team being also faster than they are at the moment.

Lewis Hamilton also said that they are far from competing for pole next week and if anyone doubts that, he will see next week...

Usually Mercedes is sandbagging, but as their car obviously has problems....

Will be interesting to watch next week how representative testing has been and if Ferrari really is that strong and Mercedes so far behind.

Watching Charles right now, you really have to say the F1-75 looks extremely well balanced and impressive and like the best car. The driver can break later, take more speed into the corner, no understeer, and they can get on the throttle earlier...it really looks like the F1-75 is the best car... I hope it is true this time, as it would be great to see Ferrari back on top and fighting for the championship.
