Red Bull RB18

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Nice and logical evolution of their concept. Lower part of the sidepod is a bit like Ferrari, but more pronounced.
What else is new? I think they still need to loose weight.

I think it was reported the floor and sidepods are specifically where the upgrades are visually. From what I can tell, this is the case.

Front end of the floor also seems different, more rounded transition between leading edge and the outer vane.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Jeah, the obvious ones. I wonder what else they changed, if they changed anything else at all.

Looks like Red Bull is going into the Ferrari direction with that. More pronounced, but the lower part reminds me of the Ferrari sidepods.

My first reaction was "oh, it's a ferrari!".

I think its not a bad sign for Ferrari if Newey does that.

Could also be weight reduction. From what I’ve read, the RB18 was still some kilos above the min weight limit, even with the extra 3 kgs.

Outer undercut also resembles the one on F1-75 a lot, very wide sidepod outer surface and then a little 50-60mm flick to the inside.

I really like the split on top, quite an obvious way to influence the amount flow going on top and going down.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!
