I think its great that it looks like battle between Merc, Ferrari and RB will make for a good season if it does, probably a few that look like they may push. But I think its hard to be certain who will win the driver and constructors championships is great to have

At the moment, I am not that sure Merc will be in that group, for the first race at least

Sorry, but that statement is even more wrong. Most teams at most times allowed their drivers to race eachother. They were not racing the dominant MB anyway for the title. Even though that led to crashes between teammates, say RB in Baku.

Hamilton and rosberg were free to race for the champion because they were guaranteed one of them would win. The team had nothing to lose.

And even in those few seasons that RB/ferrari did challenge MB, they rarely issued team orders (they did not need to because one driver performed much better than the other), despite fighting a mostly uphill battle vs mercedes over the season as a whole. They certainly didnt have more team orders than Mercedes itself, and quite possibly less - but that's a counting exercise I rather leave to others.

And go back in to the annals of F1 history and you find drivers being required to give up their car for their team mate. And yet no one has a go at Fangio's record. It just seems to be a certain bloke that is held to a higher required standard than every other champion in F1 history. Funny that.
