In the video above Ferrari gentler on its tyres over the lap? Max had the lead, higher top speeds in all straights, but his grip fell away somewhere in sector 2?
Top speeds can be misleading because a car can simply turn off battery assist sooner and his end of straight speed will drop. Image from f1tempo website below:
as you can see leclerc is actually faster on all full throttle sections despite having lower top speeds, even very short ones

"usual FP1-FP2-FP3 caveats apply obviously"
This is suggestive of a higher engine mode for Ferrari. Verstappen is faster basically through every corner. I think Ferrari are a tad behind the rb right now. Sadly for me
That's the same we've seen in testing, Ferrari later breaking and earlier on throttle on slow corners, but lower top speed, and looking at telemetry today with significant lift and coast at end of straights. I think Ferrari's package looks strong.

Agreed. Someone has definitely been taking something funky. It isn't even remotely close to reality or take in fuel loads, tyres and power unit tune.

The real order from testing on adjusted times is more likely this. This may not be the case in the race because of the lack of running for some teams and Mercedes could possibly pull a monkey out of the hat and be with the top 2.

1. Red Bull
2. Ferrari equal or 0.2 slower
.....
I don´t believe RB is 1s ahead of everybody but, going from that data, it seems Alfa Romeo is quite a good car. Those kind of data is useful just to extract a couple of informations, not to make big conclusions about the actual pecking order.

My personal prediction is that Ferrari will not be that close to RB, though.

Mine isn't down, but its very slow to respond and won't let me switch between cameras without reloading the page or access the "My Account" section.
Mine was working fine during fp1 on my tablet. Are using a tablet, phone, or desktop?
Desktop.
I just tried desktop, and its working fine for me in the beginning of FP2.

I'd say the Ferrari has a slightly higher initial acceleration ..
God, it's all hard to tell .. I guess things have become a bit more clear in about an hour.
I bet classic top 3 will be insanely close come Q3, with everything being down to driver input as in who can stitch things up best. With a plain level field and performance close enough, at least 4/5 could battle for pole.

Duchessa says Lewis didn't like the new floor so they're going back to the old one for FP2.

I mean, don't get me wrong, it works, I'm watching now. Just not fully functional.

He was already faster in Pre-Season testing than in Qualy last year… In T4 (can’t pinpoint T5 in the telemetry data) he did 125km/h in 2021 Qualy… He did 126km/h in testing… In T6/7 he did 195km/h in 2021 and 197km/h in 2022
Big thanks!

A pitty that the data on T5 is not available. I guess maybe he was doing around 180 km/h and already the same or more this year

Btw, the only thing I disliked, so far, after watching the FPs, is the new helmet cam.

I don’t understand why when F1 rolls out new graphics it affects the underlying data they’re able show? Isn’t it just front end?

New era, good looking new cars and exciting prospect of closer racing… no idea how much faster or slower anyone is going…

I don't know what Charles is doing in S2 but he put in a stonker on that fast lap. Verstappen and Sainz weren't close.

T5 isn’t really a corner for this cars, they go full throttle through it.

I like the helmet cam, as a novelty is really cool and gives a very different perspective to what the drivers experience.

The new Ferrari engine really seems like a rocket ship, BOT just landed 4th only 0.1s from SAI

Have they changed the mic pickup points for engine noise? It sounds like we have two mics and the mix isn't good so it's really odd.
