It gives you no time at all. It gives you a better development process in which testing turnaround times are quicker and if the tunnel is decent then it gives you better data to work with. There is no time that can be associated with it, it just gives you a better platform for success.

Let's say next year we have the simulator and the wind tunnel do we have the technical team on par with Red Bull and Mercedes to know how to use them at their best?

Well said. I have been a Mclaren fan for over 20 years now and I'd rather stop watching F1 than to support another team. In good times and in those not so good.

Personally I refuse to accept the negativity of this forum. The car is stronger than what Friday showed. It's closer to Red Bull and Ferrari than people think and stronger than the midfield.I won't accept that a team that took huge leaps each year with a fantastic build up,with James Key the next big thing in aerodynamics and Adreas Seidl a winner from Porshe suddenly forgot how to create a good car.

does the lower speed in slow corners suggest more fuel or maybe excessive understeer so they can simply keep the speed up through the slow corners

The way I interpret these graphs is that lines are beautiful, especially when they come in colours........

F1 can survive without Mercedes as it happened in the past. Noone will bother if Red Bull leaves also. If Mclaren, Williams or Ferrari leaves then there is no F1. If at this point in time the most popular team that is Mclaren leaves F1 then they might as well say goodbye to most of the fanbase.

It's sometimes terrify coming here. But to be fair, it's no worse than the autosport forum. A bad FP1-2 and people are hysterical. Some have even set the target for the team, saying we should be challenging for the title because "regulation change". The team has said that should happen by 2024, why is anyone expecting it now? It's no surprise that even with the cars designed under cost cap, it's the long time usual suspects at the front, they already have the necessary infrastructure in place, which Mclaren never hesitate to remind us that they don't. Bahrain could be a disaster, but that doesn't mean the season will be. The team is on the back foot as expected, let's see how the rest of the weekend goes. I'm not happy with the state of play, but it's by no means game over.

the problem i believe is their consistent inconsistency, first they tell us they have the best chassis its the engine holding them back, they come to realise it wasnt that simple , they do a massive overhaul of the team change staff ,pu suppliers, drivers and then one week they challenging for pole and race wins next week they cant make q3 personally i dont believe they know where in the team structure the problems are and thats the part that worries me.

hopefully they can pull the team around and start getting good consistent results and build from there.

Now that you mentioned Ferrari I would never under any circumstances support that team when my team is not at it's best. I still haven't forgotten the whole system from the FIA that was set up in order for Ferrari to win during the 2000-2008 and the damage their Spygate set up caused to Mclaren not to mention the fact that Ferrari escaped their Enginegate 2019 scandal without a penalty.

Still on the other hand I am missing that rivalry without the FIA.Produced one of the best eras.
