How can you be a McLaren fan and support another team when your team is not at its best? Especially another team that historicaly has been one of the biggest, if not the biggest rival, Ferrari.

If, God forbid, McLaren ceases to exist, F1 is done for me. The end.
To me it has always been - and always will be - F1 first and McLaren second. It is possible for me to enjoy a fight at the front and root for another team if McLaren is not up for it to compete with them. It doesn’t make me fan of another team. It makes me fan of the sport. And it helped me enjoy F1 even during 2013-2018. I don’t understand how anyone can be fan of a team or driver while not being a fan of the sport itself.

If I recall correctly, I heard Zak (or Andreas?) saying sometimes around testing period that the target for this season is getting more trophies than in 2021. That's what I would like to see and regression would be disappointing to me. It would also mean the team did not meet their own targets.

Guys, Lando was P11 in FP2. We were P10-11 loads of times in FP last year before ending up comfortably in Q3. There are no cars behind us who should be definitely faster than us. It's also going to be a long race and a long season with reliability being a big factor. Sit back, relax and enjoy!

PS: Did people see the top speed charts? The Merc engined cars were at the bottom...

Not only that, when cars go full beans and porpoising hits, mclaren will show one of its advantages.

At least on the early runs it just looks very understeery. As it has looked for most of the pre season test we have been able to see actually. Shame we had no onboards from Barcelona, but I imagine it would have showed similar traits. It would probably feel horrible for the drivers after getting used to the monsters previous generation cars were.

Something just seems real off with McLaren I don’t get how they have gone backwards from Barcelona I’m hoping they come out in quali and reveal the pace they shown in Barcelona but if the troubles are legitimate we will just have to be patient and hope the team gets on top of it soon better to discover a problem sooner rather than later

Ok If we count the difference between Medium and Soft I find it hard to believe Daniel Ricciardo is 3 seconds off the pace. I refuse to think that they went that much backwards after doing so many leaps in 3 years. They built a team not to screw up.

I do have to wonder if their interim (not causing burning) brake solution is holding them back everyday since the end of Barcelona we have been taking steps backwards while teams around us have been walking (in some cases running) forward.

I'm afraid they screwed up the design. One mistake in F1 can turn you into a Minardi.
