Can't believe all the hysteria after we haven't even had one race. Noone knows yet what the exact problems are or how easy it will be to fix. It's a long season though and there is plenty of water to go under the bridge yet. We showed promise in Barcelona. It's not over yet, Not by a long shot.
I don't think anyone can draw anything from Barcelona at this point. These cars were barely walking compared to where they are now.

However, you are correct, its a long season. We'll see how everything shakes out in 2 hours to start.

14th (Norris) 309km/h and 19th (Ricciardo) 307km/h in the speed trap...
Either we are still sandbagging 🤞 or our car is really draggy.

Top speed in the speedtrap was Redbull and Ferrari at 320km/h
Imagine the scenes if they tried to sacrifice some of their strengths last year to improve low speed performance, but then end up with a car that is draggier and slower in high speed corners as well as slower in low speed speed corners

I still don't think it's as bad as it looks. Even if Bahrain is a bust, the other teams are more optimised around here because of our poor 3 test days, there's no escaping it. Qualifying could be rough, the race could be rough, but we are at the early stage of a developmental season. Let's hope for better once the car does more laps. It's got to be full throttle now for the guys back in Woking.
Someone talking sense, thank you.

Let's face it, the other teams have been better able to optimise setup for this circuit.

They also made a good point on BBC FP2 coverage yesterday, the first few races are actually quite spread out, so teams with problems, we're looking at Woking and Brackley here lol, have time to sort them without losing too much ground to other teams.

I still believe that this season's McLaren has potential, they just need to sort the brakes and get the right setup.
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

One part of me is hoping all this was just sandbagging and we are gonna see a taste of what actually Mclaren can do but there is another part that is waiting dissapointment.

Moment of truth.

I will try to enjoy this season, but looking at McLaren struggling to get out of Q1 sticks out as a sore thumb.

It's an understeery mess. It looks so lazy onboard its crazy. I thought it was because of fuel on pre season testing. It seems it is just a dog of a car.
