There is definately something wrong. Optimization is not enough to explain how teams like Haas and Alfa Romeo who were eons behind suddenly are eons in front,

Maybe the engine is part of the problem. All Merc teams on the back foot.

OH MY LORD! What is this madness? Ricciardo out... I'm hoping this is a track specific thing. I don't think I'll be watching this race. Suffering from depression atm.

It’s got the same slow corner issues as previous iterations of the Macca. Whatever they’ve done over winter hasn’t fixed that. Might still be a good car in the high speed but there is so much time to find in the slow speed. It’s shocking

Eh, not really. They are suffering hard on low speed corners. Understeer city everywhere.

Really struggling with the setup again, think it's still brakes, they're snatching when they're cold so they can't trail brake to get the car turned.

All have more CFD and wind tunnel time than us due to our P3 in 2020, I'm still convinced Ferrari tanked '20 on purpose for the extra time/resources which is absolutely paying off now

It seems that way. Ferrari have taken a huge leap forward, all their cars looking quick. Lots of work to be done, but the PU freeze could be a nightmare if Merc got this one wrong.

If Norris takes us to Q3, hand him a trophy.

Doesn't help the fact that Ricciardo is again 7 tenths slower than Norris.

I reckon headline BHP isn’t the differentiator. The FER powered cars just seem to lunge away from the corners, traction is unreal

He had no car time in the second test and lost running yesterday which doesn’t help his cause.

Do you think that this picture will magically change once we go to the next GP?
I dont think I am ready to see a repeat of 4 years climbing to the top again.
